I'm part of the discord community for Loops (by Dansup), and earlier this morning, a user mentioned that they made a new Youtube alternative, that's built upon ATProto, but that they plan on adding federation to it.

Why use ATProtocol over ActivityPub?

A lot of people on the Fediverse don't enjoy AT Protocol for various reasons one being that Bluesky the people behind it are supporting Ice along with it's a centralised system with Bluesky being the center of it so not truly decentralized. Highly suggest for the dev of it to move over to use the ActivityPub protocol especially if they don't want to pay for tones of serverspace and pretty sure AT makes it so you have to support all the media on your server with no proxies.
