Well, without sideloading android is wildly inferior to iOS. Hopefully this pushes people to Linux phones, and then we can get some decent phones.
Wake me up when we have cheap ass (US$300 and under) linux phones.

The exist but they kinda suck. Needs more demand.
Kind of like a field of dreams thing...
You need something viable for there to be demand.
There are options, but locking a person into an ecosystem is more profitable. Pinephone is a good option, but it won’t work in all countries.
Ultimately, someone needs to gut android for anything salvageable, shove it into Linux, and provide a compatibility layer for android apps.
But, mass support won’t be there. Like, TikTok won’t build an app for Linux. It needs mainstream apps to work.
Android is already Linux, btw
