Well the juxtaposition to shariah law is because its punishing someone for something made up, based not in something measurable but in pseudoscience. Its the idea that you can be punished for someone elses beliefs, which are whimsical in nature.

So you're saying that punishing people for having a gender identity that conflicts with someone else's belief that there's only two genders is similar to shariah law?

Neither opinion should be an offense, yes. Its whimsy, some people say there are hundreds of genders, hence its pseudoscientific.

You are being really stubborn about accepting that gender has a proper and scientific view, probably because the scientific consensus is not saying what you think it should be saying

So how many genders is there, is it anything except 2?

Clearly the number has real world implications.

Yes. The answer is “there are as many genders as there are colours”.

There exist more than two colours so the answer is not two

Well thats a false analogy if I've ever heard one. It also misses the point, I dont care what he believes, I just dont think it should be a law to dictate something so whimsical and subjective.

Fact is we also shouldnt use the government to police wrong think, because it will not always be a government you approve of. You'll potentially get what Trump is doing now which is no different a form of censorship, denying anyone even be allowed to talk about LGBTQ with threat of a similar fine.

Well thats a false analogy

Why? I think it hits the point just right, so much so that you immediately tries to pivot away from the question you made.
