Joe Biggs, a Proud Boys leader convicted of seditious conspiracy who the government says "served as an instigator and leader" during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison on Thursday.

It is among the longest sentences in Capitol riot cases. The record is the 18-year sentence given to Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, also convicted of seditious conspiracy, after prosecutors sought 25 years in federal prison in his case.

The only thing degenerating here is your country's society

[-] Riccosuave@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, because of people like you.

[-] Diprount_Tomato@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago

Oh so I'm an evil hooded guy manipulating all of America's society from outside? You're really overestimating my power

No, you're a small-minded, sycophantic, troll who seems perfectly fine with justifying inhumane behavior based on tired legal justifications that are neither ethical nor contemporaneously representative of the will of the majority.

Conservatism is deeply rooted in this kind of ideological sophistry, and in that way you are a perfect representative of your cause. While you may not be from the United States, you embody the same kind of energy as the conservative electorate here that votes against its own interest because they cannot see the forest through the trees.

"justifying inhumane behaviour" lol

And you still haven't answered why or how I am degenerating America

I said people like you, and I just explained what I meant by that.

I'm sorry you can't fucking read chief.

[-] Diprount_Tomato@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago

You still have to explain how

[-] Riccosuave@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Actually, I don't. This has now become boring and tedious. If I see your stupid takes around again maybe I will hurl some more arguments your direction for meaningless internet points. But for now I'm going to go do something more productive.

It's been real, it's been fun, but it ain't been real fun 😘
