Genuine question, do they have to pay for their own drug testing?

Also they're using cheek swab testing, is that even guaranteed to pick up xx/xy chimerism?

Ehm, this is an international organization's regulations. Not the UK at fault here.

The UK is just advising their own athletes of the international org's policy - and telling them to pay out of pocket rather to "avoid delays", even though financing is available to those who need it on a "case by case" basis.

I think the question was whether they previously had to pay for [other] drug tests that presumably are standard practice

Yes, that was my point.

If they have to pay "out of pocket" for existing tests it's at-least consistent, if unsavoury.
