"Anti-regime Iranians" aka Iranians.
Iranians aren’t a monolith, and clearly many Iranians and not anti-“regime.”
Ya of course, but Iranians mostly hate the regime. I've never seen anybody so happy about somebody's death as my Persian friend when the leader was killed. I'm not making any excuses about US actions. Fuck them but also fuck the regime.
Consider the fact that Iranians living in other countries might have different opinions than people who actually live in Iran and have to live with the consequences.
Iranian expats are in no way representative of the ~92 million Iranians in Iran. You’re talking out your ass.
You seriously think every Iranian is anti-regime and maybe, also pro-American invasion?
Maybe they believe it,
maybe they don’t,
but they clearly want us to believe that they believe it,
and they clearly wish to convince others to believe it.
Masses, Elites, and Rebels: The Theory of “Brainwashing”
This could be read as all Iranians hate Trump which is most probably true, or all Iranians hate their government which is most definitely false.
Are you playing coy? 😛 It comes from uncritically consuming Western media, which present to us their Platonic ideal of an Iranian as representative of all Iranians. Day after day, year after year, decade after decade, since 1979.
Have you ever met an Iranian? They hate their government. Just look at their recent protests. I have no idea how they feel about the US right now, but they hate the regime.
Go back to Reddit, where you can talk out your ass and get away with it.
Have you? The recent protests were due to economic issues caused by the sanctions. Iran is diverse: Shia Muslims, Sunni Muslims, ethnic and religious minorities, so of course there will be all kind of different views, but the majority viewed Ali Khamenai as a religious leader as well as a political leader, he was also a religious leader to Shia outside of Iran. He was most similar to the role the Pope played during the Papal State period.
You say yourself that you don't know how they feel about the US , yet you think it is relevant whether they support their government or not in the context of an imperialist state threatening their sovereignty.
