It's not pedantry, it's a massive difference in moderation direction from what you said.
I only view my main feed so i don't pay attention to what post is in what community, but i believe you that a new moderation direction may be needed. But it also sounds like you're talking about trying to steer it into an extremely narrow alley which isn't valid to the title of the community. c/photos is for only photographs, but c/pics means it's for way more than just photos.
You have the ability to restrict it to just photos of feet if you wanted to, but imo that also wouldn't be valid.
I'm glad you're moderating out violent posts though
Please refer to the rules. Nothing has changed just reiterating what the rules are here and how enforcement will be approached.
