Oh look, it's the idea that the US deemed "too expensive" because the solar highways require a fair bit of upkeep. Turns out that is actually quite affordable when you put people ahead of profit.
if you proposed the highway system itself today, it would never get built
it would be a permitting hell, but Ike wanted it because it was so hard for the military to move assets around so that aspect of it might be enough to get some of it through the bullshit
They would just do redlining but for roads that don't connect to any other roads.
