The press release sure seems like the Marines are warning their latest class of recruits that their family members could get kidnapped at their graduation ceremony.
This war and ICE crackdown could actually cause the military (or parts of it) to start opposing the government and causing the country to balkanise, being treated as a secondary force to ICE would probably be enough for quite a few military types to want to stage a coup.
and it would be the easiest coup to frame as preventing a coup
