Technically sigterm first says “please stop. Don’t make me shoot you.”
It only goes John Wick on a process when civility fails.
And asks user "if you want i can kill him and close anyway. Proceed?", windows even then is trying to close something soft, linux says "sigkill", goodbye (i think that I've sounded a little cringy but, life is life, heh)
And sometimes that will fail too (process in an uninterruptable sleep)
yess, some time ago my computer stays on systemd screen for about 10 minutes waiting for one job to be executed
