I took you to mean competitive gaming. Playing against humans is always going to be better if you want meaningful competition. I understand that you don't, but you should also recognize that's a huge part of gaming for a lot of people, and was (with a very small number of exceptions) literally the only way to play any game for thousands of years. The negativity that you refer to has more to do with playing against children than playing competitive games.
There are a lot of adults that exhibit this behavior. I don't deny other people their competitive experience, merely explaining why it's not for me as I have grown older and have more responsibilities. Also not saying its universal.
But in general having only a small amount of time to dedicate towards something, the PvP / pub aspect certainly opens up for having your experience tarnished.
Also, if my "tone" came off as unpleasant that wasn't my intention.
Acting like children are the only ones negatively affecting the online space is the true copium here.
