Western Canada will be fine and yeah you could do this. The issue is the far more densely populated east coast that's entirely reliant on imported oil and gas that can't easily access Albertan energy for some reason... Hmm.. Weird... Almost like a east/west pipeline would have been perfect for this if it wasn't killed multiple times by politics.
