suddenly non-dogshit article from jacobina, despite the author.

being helpful or social or fun while carrying your politics openly does change people minds little bit

This isn't wrong. In europe Working Men's clubs weren't just finding people jobs, they were essential social outlets with football (soccer) teams and other sports activities. There was a whole social infrastructure that existed around the organising infrastructure that tied communities together.

Also, left orgs should get better at finding each other jobs. I've been in a good handful of orgs and only one was ever effective at that (granted, that was pre-2008, so a little easier to do)

Does that count as mutual aid?

Nanjing has roughly 12.5 sports fields per square mile (doing napkin math on ~30k sports fields and the area of the city)

Have a friend from there who says he had like 3 within a 15 minute bike-ride from his house.

The problem is that even good advice coming from Jacobin makes me question it. Reactionary, sure, but it's not a bad instinct.

Jacobin can't help but be annoying left-scolds even if they're correct.
