Visiting London for a few days, and noticed a lot of half-mast flags: red cross on a white background (reminiscent of some crusaders, Templars?) any symbolism behind them being shredded? Its a lot of them, must have cost a ton of money…

It's the flag of St Georgios of Palestine, Patron Saint of Ukraine. I would assume it's to show our support for Ukrainians and Palestinians against the aggressive wars of Russia and Israel.

The flags are decaying, likely as a symbolic gesture by the artist, to remind us of the destruction and decay caused by these wars.

There's a small chance I might be incorrect, of course.
