I'm unfamiliar with the light novels so no idea if that is the case, regardless this doesn't seem like the kinda show that'll have multiple seasons. Maybe it'll get more seasons and Miyo will receive all the character development that I'm hoping for but currently I'm not enjoying the show too much.
