How much do you spend on Grab car a month? That must be a lot.
Well, I’m in a third world country so it’s much cheaper than Uber is in America.
My wife only takes it to work 3-5 times a week, she can get home using a combination of walking and tricycle.
There is not a tricycle lineup near our condo, so it’s much harder to find one. But she is working on finding someone who can be her regular pickup so we can reduce our grab usage.
I work from home so I only need it when going to get groceries, but the market is really close to my home so unless it’s wildly hot or raining I usually walk there and get a grab back.
But the overall cost for my wife is a lot less than the cost of a car loan. We also don’t have to pay for parking. So it’s more economical for us to use grab.
I'm not from the US either, and still I think Grabbing almost everyday is expensive. It's near that your working and living arrangement means you don't need a car much.
Well, my wife only needs to go to work 3-4 times a week. She only takes grab in the morning.
So it’s like $120 month for her to get to work. I probably add like $10 a month for grocery trips.
If we bought a car, we’d have a loan of like $300, pay for gas, pay for insurance, and pay for parking. Parking where I live is $100, I’m not sure how much it would be where my wife works.
So it’s genuinely much cheaper to just take grab. My wife can get a motor tricycle home.
