United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
Unfortunately, I do know who he is as he, inexplicably, keeps getting shoved under our noses (who invited him.on Question Time needs sacking). He's a privileged dimwit who has, hopefully, now wrecked any chance of him appearing on all but the most disreputable TV channels and, if GB News stick to their guns, perhaps not even there either.
I think I've heard the name before but I've never associated it to a particular person. What is he was he some politician at one point or something, why is he relevant?
He's an actor of the Fox family dynasty of thespians. He was probably best known for marrying Billy Piper and his supporting role in the Morse spin-off Lewis. He spouted some "political correctness gone mad" nonsense, then leveraged the outrage to become a mouthpiece for the usual right wing Culture Wars talking checklist (race, gender, etc) as well as Covid and Brexit. It was enough for him to get into politics but he has lost his deposit every time he has stood.
