MODERATORS
Every single I've seen something horrible from a fedi site, it's been on lemmy. I would block all of lemmy, but then my feed would be dry. I've seen much worse things here in a few months than I did for the on and off years on reddit. I honestly might just quit kbin and fediverse sites all together, I've already stopped recommending it to people. There is a servere lack of moderation and a large attraction to certain types of people to populate here. I see this going similar to voat, just harshly left rather than harshly right.
Freedom from corporate interests means greater personal responsibility. We can't have one without the other. All of us bear a responsibility to raise awareness about this stuff and inform our instance admins. It's the cost of not using corporate platforms.

The issue is that people who do want to moderate dont have the tools for it, and/or burn out doing it like it's happening to beehaw. The fediverse software just isn't ready for stuff like this unfortunately, and it's a shame. Their focus really should have been moderation tools and safety in the past few months...
