Oh I've only seen the original. How many offshoots are there?
Arguably just Rebuild of Evangelion, the multiple-OVA do-over that's also a giant middle finger to the sort of fans who asked for a multiple-OVA do-over. Anno being Anno.
But technically there were three Sega Saturn games contemporary with the original anime, styled as additional episodes, of varying official-ness. At least one of them is kind of an alternate timeline ordeal. And a PS2 pseudo-sequel that is explicitly the slice-of-life timeline in the last few episodes.
