Hello. I'm going to post this on reddit or somewhere else. But since I'd say I belong to the community of people who care about privacy, I'll post it here first. I'm thankful for any advice you can give me. And I'm just another person out there trying to figure stuff out, so please go easy on me. Is there anything I need to hear before doing this thought?

I want to make a living for myself teaching meditation. I'm offering half of the profits, in the begining, if you can help me achieve that. I'm passionate about what I do, but I simply do not possess the relevant background to "sell myself". I'll always try my best to grow every year by participating in retreats and learn from my elders. To offer more off my craft, not only for my benefit but for the benefits of others.

Specifically, I need help to organize my first retreats at the moment. I'd like to do it at Baahu villa, Siem Reap (Cambodia). If you get 10 people interested at minimum, you're getting half of the profits I'm making. They need to purchase through your adds, but of course, we'll only endorse you if you actually give us the money, otherwise, we'll tell the world you're a scam if you get caught. You need to charge 30$ for individual rooms, two meals a day and teaching are included in the price. On this price, I'm cutting whatever profits I'm making in half with you. I need a certain level of participants to offer them the proposal, so they need to pre-book, and to be assured that the retreat will happen only if a minimum number of participant have booked as well. Here is my curriculum vitae; I've been meditating since the age of 19 (I'm 24), in the vipassana style of meditation, I did two retreats, the first of 10 days in the Goenka style, the second at the Doisuthep temple in Thailand, held by Ajaan Buddhasak, where I participated to a 18 day retreat, normally it's a 21 day course. However, when I completed my learning the technique, I was told that if I wished to stay, I had to meditate both in isolation and without sleeping for 4 days. I achieved it the first night, and the day after that before getting afraid of brain damage. I will consult with a doctor before continuing training. I spend 10 hours a day meditating in the first one, and 8 hours in the second one. Both were Vipassana style meditation retreats. At Doisuthep, the technique taught involved the 7 step technique (walking meditation) and 28 points (sitting meditation). The style I would teach would be closer to the first retreat I've attended, I can only teach the second based on an individual request. I'm just starting out here, so these are hardly impressive credentials. But always want to improve and stay humble. I can offer something of value to my students thought, if I'm given the chance. Thank you. Contact me if you're interested in being a partner.

For something like this, you will probably want the larger audience you can get on reddit, since 99% of people probably won't be interested. Here only 100 people might see your post, you might or might not get a response. On reddit, thousands of people might see your post, you'd probably get more engagement from that.

Particularly given Lemmy's general anti-business leanings.

I'd recommend the taoism community back over there, they take meditation seriously. I'm sure there's others too.
