The MP3 and digital license sales number seems late in the game? I would expect them to start selling more in 2000 than 2005, but maybe MP3 players didn’t really pick up until later in the 00s

Early storefronts made it a pain in the ass to get legally purchased mp3s onto anything other than apple products. The easiest way to get legally purchased music on mp3 players was either to own an ipod and purchase on itunes or to rip your own cds.

Yeah they were still pretty exotic even in 2005.

Many people didn't really have easy means to get files onto an MP3 player.
