The number of registered republicans only overtook democrats in 2021. But the state has been getting more red for years as wealthier people and retirees move there while younger left-leaning people have been fleeing the state's rising CoL under Skeletor and especially Deathsentence. I think the supercharging of the dumbass base via maga and Deathsentence propaganda that otherwise wouldn't have voted prior to '16 also contributed to more registrations.
