The time loops thing was just about the time when I was checking my watch also, lol. But I'm better disposed towards the twist I think, I tend not to be bothered if a story choice/twist is inventive objectively as long as it works structurally - in this case it worked for me because it explained all the looney tunes tech and gear. Sure there's the rl budget reason but there's an in-story meta reason that amused me. 😂 Also that the twist depended on the siblings' relationship as well and not just the romantic one, made it interesting.
