Unfortunately they often kill siblings (not that the death of parents wasn't unfortunate, but at least they have some culpability).
Yeah that surprises me less given a parent seeing a child waive a firearm would be very nervous, same as I'd be if my kid was wielding a paring knife or the big knife with her sibling or cousin.
