You should consider pirating disco, that's what the developers suggest after their game got stolen. You support literal criminals by buing it.

People Make Games has a 2 hour documentary covering it. It was a little dry, so I didn't even make it all the way through, but nobody seemed great in that situation.

If you gave all the money to charity, then the current publishers wouldn't get a penny. So it's probably the best way to get it on Steam, although it also means none of the other games will get any money either.
