MODERATORS
All fair points, I have to say.
I like Lance, so I’m a bit biased… :-/
Thanks for the rebuttal though. I always enjoy having my field of view widened. :-)
I did used to like Lance as a person but his comments about having earned his place in F1 at the start of the season and the shove and general bad temper of what is his own lack of performance have turned me off again.
He seems to lack self awareness that he shouldn't be in that seat. He is far from the worst pay driver ever but I don't think they should be in F1 any more if we are seriously in the era of billion dollar team valuations and with the budget cap.
I know everyone hates the shove, but it kinda made me like him more. I've always seen him as a dude just happy to be there no matter what. Now after he had a terrible run and his personal trainer (I belie that's who it was) was trying to be overly happy and supportive right after he got out he was in a pissed off mood. If he wasn't pissed I would be upset because he's not trying.
Dude realizes he's not good enough right now and it's effecting him mentally, as it should. Anyone who's fine with losing shouldn't be in sports in general. Dudes finally taking this serious after several years of just being the happy puppy
Edit: here's the incident like, why is nobody talking about the trainers finger wag like everyone is happy here. You don't do that to a grown man seriously, especially when he's in a bad mood.
Edit edit: I've gotten in fights with my best friend during football games because we were losing and just had high tempers. We still hung out afterwards and to this day. Anger in the heat of the moment happens and shows you're still caring. I always knew a guy was about to quit playing when he just stopped caring and went with the flow. Lance ain't there yet
If you can't take a finger wag without shoving someone you need to go on an anger management course. He's more than welcome to fire the guy afterwards if he really didn't like it rather than shoving him, he is after all in the position of power here and why the shove is so bad.
He's been taking it seriously since before F1, just look at the money spent and training to get him through F3, they even hired a Ferrari F1 guy to run the team. He even paid Williams for private F1 tests once he arrived into F1 in an old F1 car, engineers and hiring the circuit for himself. Hes had a ton of training with the top driving coaches all the way through.
Last thing I'd accuse him of is not trying hard or having access to the best resources. What we see now is the best he's going to get.
