MODERATORS
They aren't not applied by severity of outcome in the sense that you don't get a harsher penalty if you take out the race leader vs a backmarker, but it does absolutely make a difference if you gained an advantage from the situation.
right, especially on the opening lap where driving mistakes are often forgiven.
