It is, they now use tons of antibiotics instead to create antibiotic resistance diseases. I spoke to a veterinarian and she said it is less used now. My neighbor who had to stop farming pigs because the ammonia destroyed his lungs says it was more common back in his days.

It is the German article for the same practice because I assumed you do speak German. My bad.
I have nothing to do with the article and had to ask a veterinarian after reading this article for the German word to even find this stub of a article.
