MODERATORS
The ridiculousness serves a couple functions, but yes they do actually take him seriously. It functions as effective advertising ("hey, check out this hilarious game, who actually believes this stuff??") which can spread it more easily to the kind of person who does believe this stuff.
It's outrageousness is also self selecting, because it's able to pretend it doesn't really believe this stuff to liberals. For people who believe even a little bit of this and can look past the funny stuff, it becomes a kind of self selecting thing, like you're able to self select what's really a joke and what's not. It's kinda like those scam email chains where it selects for people who would believe something like what it's saying, and everyone else who thinks it's ridiculous moves on
