PSA. If you are new to cats, you should always be vigilant when they play with cord-like things. Once these get to the throat cats will always feel the need to swallow the whole thing. This may end with your kitty needing surgery.

Guys, this happened to me. Mine chewed on some kind of shoestring I had lying around the house. I came home to a string coming out of his mouth. I brought him to the vet, they straightened him on the bed and pulled it right out. It went like 20cm inside my cat. Took a couple seconds to pull it out. He couldn't eat for about a night. He was fine the next day. TLDR: NO STRING AROUND CAT.
