I find it pretty funny how later on he changes his clothes and they still look like they were just Tuvok and Neelix's attire combined, the way his uniform is in this picture (when the accident just happened and it literally did combine them).
He replicated them to look that way, which used precious energy that could have gone towards making coffee. No wonder Janeway murdered him.
