In my country, most sellers put a warning on the box to make an unboxing or there will be no refund for complaints..
I think this is due to them getting scammed by others before, but I personally hate doing this because it's such a bother haha
It doesn't matter what the package says. When you buy something, you should look for signs of tampering before you check out. And when you film yourself opening a sealed box, and something goes wrong, now you have evidence. Laws supercede store policies. Most countries laws would allow you get get back your money especially with evidence.
Maybe if you open like a cereal box, you don't need to bother. But opening a new smartphone? I think it's worth the annoyance of filming yourself opening it. If you don't film it, best case scenario, you save a little bit of time, worst case scenario, you lose out on hundreds of dollars because it was damaged or missing.
Ah yes of course I'd make one if unboxing a smartphone, I'm talking about something smaller like a HDMI cable maybe, it's cheap enough but you'd be annoyed enough if the seller put only 1 while I'm buying 2 or it's actually defective or something..
In the past, the sellers usually just apologised and refunded the money or sent the replacement/missing part, but nowadays you'd have to include an unboxing video too.. Probably they've been scammed by a buyer before..
Fuck em all scammers man..
