Minuteman III Missiles Are Too Old to Upgrade Anymore, STRATCOM Chief Says
(www.military.com)
News from within the empire - From a leftist perspective
What's wild is that 18 months ago the USA launched a MM3 to test that they were fine and to demonstrate to the world that they were working and capable as a deterrent .
that's the one that failed right?

I think this was the one I was remembering.
oh there was a more recent one in November last year that failed https://www.airandspaceforces.com/icbm-test-failure-nuclear-modernization/
Yeah, that's what I find wild. They had what they announced was a successful test 18 months ago. Then in November there's a failure and all this news that it doesn't work? I dunno. Part of me thinks this is just the MIC rationalizing the $1T allocation to upgrade the US nuclear arsenal.
I imagine it's a combination of the systems being legitimately old and becoming difficult to maintain, as well as the MIC realizing they can cash in on a big upgrade program.
