There is no way this isn't intentional as there is enough mounting space to the right of it
Mostly intentional. There are others that are 100% intentional from the beginning. This one is a circumstance and a boss with a sense of humor.
From the article, they expanded the building, taking away the space for the C. Rather than move all the letters, he decided this would be funnier.
That makes sense. If you look at the bottom-left corner of the window overhang, you can see that the wall extends out in-front of the window a little.
The first 2 paragraphs of the article explains this was intentional.
I assume it is photoshop.

There were a lot of good photoshop battles that put out things at least this well done.
