Fairly sure hip replacements use lighter metals than medieval-ass IRON ๐Ÿ˜‚

Titanium ideally. Weight is a consideration, but mostly that you body won't attack it like it would iron alloys and it fuses to bone really well.

Yep, usually titanium. Also because Iron would corrode in the body.
