The problem is that we're like Heroin addicts protesting against the bad effects of Heroin, but since we're addicted we still keep buying from the dealers. Why would the Heroin dealers worry about empty threats? They know they are necessary for economic growth and helping us maintain our lifestyles. It's kind of ironic that the thing that provides us with a livelihood also destroys nature, which is also and even more vital for our survival.
