We aren't prepared for anything economic, let's be fucking honest. It's been reduced to a game of 'don't be in power when the pozi scheme fails'

We've been very busy preparing the billionaires so that they'll be sitting pretty when the shit hits the fan.

I remember reading an article about the popularity of buying NZ citizenship and bunkers by billionaires during pandemic. They are literally just going to have their own island and a bunch of nukes while the rest of the world descends into chaos.

If you think that the names and current national boundaries and territories will go unchanged amid climate and biological armageddon, you're in for a rude awakening. The US funded coups for bananas. Imagine what they will do for lumber or meat or oil as things collapse? China has been genociding in and around their borders for years. Russia is 2 years into invading Eastern Europe because of a small penis leader---these are superpowers in stable times.

There is a reason post apocalyptic movies are generally attempt to be jarring...it's ALL going away.

I wish people would at least be aware of our current situation. Maybe it's just my bubble but people seem to be oblivious to what's going on.

Discussion of climate, how it is changing, activism around that, the politics, and the energy systems change we need in order to stabilize things.

As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

How much each change to the atmosphere has warmed the world: IPCC AR6 Figure 2 - Thee bar charts: first chart: how much each gas has warmed the world. About 1C of total warming. Second chart: about 1.5C of total warming from well-mixed greenhouse gases, offset by 0.4C of cooling from aerosols and negligible influence from changes to solar output, volcanoes, and internal variability. Third chart: about 1.25C of warming from CO2, 0.5C from methane, and a bunch more in small quantities from other gases. About 0.5C of cooling with large error bars from SO2.

Recommended actions to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the near future:
