Imagine being so insistent on targeting what amounts to 1% of the population.

This shows how little they care about governing and how much they care about pushing their agenda.

1/100 is trans? No way. It's got to be more like 1/1000 or even less. If you say I is 1% is lgbtq I would agree. But trans specifically? Nah.

~7% identifies as LGBT in USA, 0,5-1,6% identify as trans according to wikipedia.

It shocks me that people think there are so few gay and trans people. People are afraid to tell the truth because of these kind of politicians, you’re almost guaranteed to have a gay person in your family somewhere, whether they’re out or not

To be fair, it may not be something that comes up during a normal conversation. It's really none of our business what other people's preference in the bedroom is, so it isn't something most people pry about.

I lived under the same roof (uni dormitory with 5 others) with a person for 3 years without knowing she was bisexual. It was only because she mentioned a female name in a subsentence about a tinder date that I found out about it. Unless they got a partner or you're really close to them, it may just be something you never find out about, so you just assume they're straight.
