Community rules (click to expand)
1. Follow the site-wide rules
- Instance-wide TOS: https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
- Lemmy code of conduct: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/code_of_conduct.html
2. Be civil
- Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
- Do not harrass or attack members of the community for any reason.
- Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
- Bigotry will not be tolerated.
- These rules are somewhat loosened when the subject is a public figure. Still, do not attack their person or incite harrassment.
3. Post Linux-related content
- Including Unix and BSD.
- Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of
sudo
in Windows.
- No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
4. No recent reposts
- Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

Explain like I'm old?
The meme is not sufficient in itself to make sense. It only works in the context of weibos fawning over japanese maid cosplay mixed with PC building... From the early 2000s from the look of the computer
Having worked with maids in real life, no fucking way I'm letting anyone with a electrostatic feather duster near a ungrounded circuit board, especially if their wearing polyester uniforms with insulated platform shoes...
Thanks! I have never been a part of anime related communities/subcultures so I would have never picked up on that.
See the picture I attached. Now pretend you're horizontal on the floor looking up at the maid building the PC. You are the CPU fan looking up
Wait is that seriously it?
When I first saw it I thought it was that some brand makes their fans in Japan, or "maid in Japan". And I thought that was a kinda lame joke. But it works a lot better than a reference as obscure as this…
I saw the original posted too many times to not come up with a response, I thought they were mostly here on /c/linuxmemes but maybe not. Usually captioned "average Arch user". 😅
Yeah, like the FPS style porn, I get it.🎮
I'd be looking up otherplaces if given the chance... 😅
