I don't think this movement really got off the ground in WA, we never really had the lock-downs and remote working culture introduced through the pandemic that the Eastern states got. Still, this makes for fascinating reading.

CEOs often "work" multiple jobs.

People trying to get their startups off the ground often work multiple jobs.

Minimum wage workers often work multiple jobs.

Why is it a problem when developers work multiple jobs?

The difference is a person who considers themselves as over employed are getting 2 wages for working the same hour.

In your examples the time is divided between orgs. If the ceo is at org 1 they do the work of org 1. Not the work of org 1 and 2.

A person having multiple minimum paying jobs only works for one org in a given shift.

I have no issue with the over employed movement, orgs don't know how people work and it's not like they are defrauding anyone. Tax is still paid, work is still being produced. They may be breaking a non compete clause but those should be illegal.

I get paid for results, not hours. My time isn't tracked. I'm a software engineer.
