If any American Christian actually meant it when they talked about religious freedoms, they'd be furious about this.

IIRC the Crusades were launched for similar reasons. Not saying either "holy war" is justified, only that fundies on either side act as fundies do.
I am sure the Muslims will remain very calm and let the government know that they disapprove of this action.
