Most people are unhappy with the US Gov's treatment of the Tik Tok issue. I'm in favor of either banning all data brokering among Social Media, which would also take down meta, Twitter, and other dystopian US companies, not just Tik Tok, or letting Tik Tok remain.
The current messaging is just "invading privacy is okay when we do it, not when China does it," which is a fairly weak argument to stand on. None of it is okay, and all of it should be opposed. This just further empowers the US-based companies.
