I think it’s very rude to pull through a red light and make pedestrians stop on their way; some of them seemed irritated as well. Perhaps this is normal in São Paulo but is it normal in New York?

I don't ride a fixie but it seems to me it's unavoidable when you can't just freewheel and have momentum

All for bikes, but that’s kind of like saying my car doesn’t have freewheel so I should be able to keep going through a red light. If it’s a fixie, perhaps you shouldn’t use it if you cannot adhere to laws and common courtesy.

Pedestrian safety > bike safety >>>> car safety
