I think it’s very rude to pull through a red light and make pedestrians stop on their way; some of them seemed irritated as well. Perhaps this is normal in São Paulo but is it normal in New York?

The way that she’s riding is aggressive but fairly normal for New York.

Some other things she does: go the wrong way down a bike lane (very common) and ride in the bus-only lane (this is actually the correct thing to do).

I don't ride a fixie but it seems to me it's unavoidable when you can't just freewheel and have momentum

All for bikes, but that’s kind of like saying my car doesn’t have freewheel so I should be able to keep going through a red light. If it’s a fixie, perhaps you shouldn’t use it if you cannot adhere to laws and common courtesy.

Pedestrian safety > bike safety >>>> car safety
