I was thinking the same. It might work, but the strap would have to be tighter IMO. Also good luck if that is drywall

Highly recommend some good toggle bolts or plastic toggle threaded anchors. Those should do the job.

I mean, it might if it's secure and entirely flush as well as anchored properly. But unless the house is really sturdy the whole thing is going to shake.
