Oh, it's a football reference, my bad...
Any sport or activity that causes frequent head contact (sometimes no contact even needed) can lead to CTE over time. Football, soccer, combat sports, or even being near explosions can cause it.

This shooter is just one example, but many NFL players who have committed murder or suicide had CTE as well, and it was likely a contributing factor to their actions.
