"Lying by omission" is a thing, but I don't think it counts here, as you're not expected or obligated to tell anyone about it.
My go to in life is, "Ah man, I'd love to do that tomorrow, but I have an appointment."
Very few people are nosy enough to ask about what and I don't feel obligated to tell them it's with myself to be alone.
