Tell your boss you don't want tax withheld from your pay and watch yourself get fired. Then you have zero income and zero income tax.
What? You can absolutely have your employer stop taking tax deductions, it makes no difference to them, but then you do have to file and pay the IRS directly. .
You can totally write "exempt" on the W4. You still have to pay up if you owe after all is said and done.
