The United States House of Representatives is reviewing a bill that calls for a reassessment of the country’s relationship with South Africa, amid tensions between the nations.

...

She speculated that the introduction of the bill might be due to South Africa’s stance on Israel’s war on Gaza and the fact that South Africa brought a genocide case against Israel to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on December 29, 2023.

Seems like the most logical, and humane, thing to do would be to break ties with Israel instead. South Africa is on the right side of history on this one.

I'm sorry, but principles of liberty are hard. Can't we just have some of it here and there, and other places where it's economically and geopolitically advantagous, we can - y'know, just ignore those? You know the ones, the ones we harp on about every election cycle.

I mean come on! It's not like we're selling out everything we supposedly stand for to play the tepid games of fancy boys and girls who want fatter Cayman island bank accounts, which inadvertently enables ethno-nationalism to rear its ugly head again to commit genocide.. can't we can have a little genocide.. as a treat?

Can't we please just have business as usual?!?! GAH, MOM!!! Principles are hard! I dun wanna :(
