when people talk about commie blocks and inherently place attractiveness and tourism potential over the clear benefits of cheap housing available en masse, i get a real sick feeling in my stomach

only a couple of minutes into this response video and i don't think the response and override how frustrated i feel over the dismissal of this sort of affordable housing because it's 'depressing'

for fucks sake cities are concrete jungles already, they're inherently depressing. at least let people live in them

yeah and I don't actually have an issue with that, I was being a bit glib for effect. even if one doesn't find them inherently depressing, though, i don't think 'commie blocks' break up the typical skyline of a city enough to be the deciding factor on if a city is 'attractive' or not
